Warning/Caution

We all depend on electricity every day, and nothing highlights this more than a power outage. When electricity is unavailable, many people turn to alternative sources for cooking, heating, and lighting. These alternatives can be hazardous if proper safety precautions are not followed. It’s also important to ensure you have working battery‑powered smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and to test them regularly. During a power failure, make sure you have at least one non‑cordless telephone available, as cordless phones will not operate without electricity.
Take a moment to download and review the Fire Safety Notice. Being aware of potential hazards and knowing the right precautions can help keep you and your household safe during a power outage.
